Once in a while in the past year though, I've stumbled on a song or two that don't rip me a part. There have been these glimpses of musical strength that isn't shoving the need to keep your head up in my face. There's only so many times you can be told to smile and be strong. Sometimes admitting weakness is just as important to building that strength back up. ... I'm rambling.
"Fight Like A Girl" came to me through Spotify's Discovery playlist. If you don't know about this, it's time to start using the service just to see what hidden gems they'll pull out without effort. This comes out every Monday morning, and there's always been about 10 or so songs from the 30 song list that make it into my regular rotation. This one has become part of my daily routine.
This one points out that the punches will always keep coming, and you have to fight like hell to stay up. You have to use what you've been taught, given, and shown, and punch your way back up. It's not easy or always pretty, but it's possible.
