Seriously, this song's ridiculous, and so much fun, and awful, all at once. It's something you can't help but jump around to and scream your heart out to - don't like, you've done it at least once.
And on that note, happy Friday y'all!

I was almost worried - I thought of Idina or Imagine Dragons as the "I" artist, but realized when I got in that I've used both of them, thus defeating the purpose of this project!! But, never fear, my odd obsession with the insanity that is this song is here to the rescue! Seriously, this song's ridiculous, and so much fun, and awful, all at once. It's something you can't help but jump around to and scream your heart out to - don't like, you've done it at least once. And on that note, happy Friday y'all!

This is almost, in a way, my way of responding to everything from the weekend awards madness. Almost. I also really like some of Hilary Duff's old music, especially what came through this movie, "Raise Your Voice." It's so unknown most places, but the music is really cool. Plus she gets to go to a music summer camp. I mean, COME ON!!
Okay, yes, I just found out this is one of my boss's favorite bands, and I am posting in hopes that she'll think I'm a little cooler if she ever decides to drop by this blog. But in my defense, I have posted about my enjoyment of this music before, when I reviewed their album. So there. In truth, I have a love/hate relationship with the Foo Fighters. Sometimes they strike just the right chord and their music is perfect. But I can get really sick of that music just as quickly. This song has managed to pretty much stand the test of time though.
I've been in a country mood. I'd say it's just this week, but it's my life. This is a band that came to light my freshman year of college, and my friend Alyssa and I would listen to their same 3 songs over and over. There's just something incredibly catchy and great about what they have to offer, and I have yet to get sick of them. So take a listen, enjoy, and if you get a chance, check out more and more.
In the midst of my excitement for the "True Blood" Finale (seriously, sorry to my friends who have seen my never-ending posts on the subject) (also, if Eric is dead, I quit), I have been slacking on posts! I mean, it probably also had to do with traveling back and forth to Jersey, tubing on Saturday, and spending Sunday with mom and Monday at work, but seriously - slacker. Anywhos, this is a nice country song by a man you may know as Hootie, hahaha. No but really, it's pretty plain to see that Darius Rucker has broken into his solo career in country quite nicely. While he did have a 2002 solo release, it was 2008 that made him something bigger. This was one of the songs that helped, and not to mention a really ridiculously sweet sentiment. Yeah, it's a play off of "Ain't No Rest for the Weery" - so what? The songs dark and brilliant. It barely got mainstream play, but is probably the song you know best from the band. It's got a heck of a story that goes along the way, so make sure to pay a little attention to the lyrics as they go. Interesting background story - it was written after the writer's roommate (who was a drug dealer at the time) said that very line when asked why he did what he did. And that's what you hear from the song. Stupid life and tough responsibilities force you to do what you have to in order to survive. Just for kicks, because this song is just that fun. #ThrowbackThursday ! Do you know how difficult it is to find an engagement song by an artist that starts with the letter "A"?? Thank god for Google and people being crazy playlist makers like me. This song is cute and fun, but most definitely has that touch of romantic we're looking for. Why, you ask? My gal in Nashville, Amanda, is engaged as of yesterday morning! Welcome to the ABC Project, where I try to add a new band/act/artist to this page everyday in alpha-order. You won't see anyone I've posted about before. Jonathan starts things off for me, completely unknowingly, by giving me a show title that starts with a symbol, so it counts when you look for albums in a record store. Yup. I'm a nutcase. |
