Musical Mondays start off this year in a light way, but classic. I like the throwbacks redone a lot, and I hope you all do to. And sometime this year, I will see this show.
I must be a on feel good/follow up single kick this weekend. Albeit, this hits a little too close melodically to "See You Again," but after about 8 months of not being able to hear Charlie Puth's voice without breaking into tears, it's nice to have something else to hear from him. Charlie's voice is something really lovely, and he really does make you feel a little less alone in the world. Plus, who doesn't want the nice little happy song once in a while?
"Hello" is a lovely song, don't get me wrong here, but this is better. This is the follow up single that you'll start to hear, albeit sparingly, on the radio. This is, in my opinion, much better. It's got a better story to relate to in living in the memories. And I feel like there's some sort of acceptance in those memories, not sadness, as you might suspect upon first listen. I don't know, maybe I'm reaching here, but this new leaf of Adele out of absolute sadness is kind of nice.
After a year filled with loss, you may wonder why I've accepted the act of starting off this new one with more sadness. But let me make something clear - I choose to celebrate the lives that have touched us. Why dwell in the sadness of the memories? Natalie Cole brought a brilliant voice to our worlds, and we are blessed to have had her a part of it.
So let's allow ourselves to enjoy her memory and let her sing us into the happiness of a new year. |
