Oh what a classic. Though it was the top song of 1986, did you know it was recorded by Rod Stewart originally in 1982? So this is a cover - that's wild!
This was a charity song, made for the American Foundation for AIDS Research, and it raised over $3 Million for the cause. The song also won a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, as well as Song of the Year. Whew.
Okay I'll admit it - I'm picking this one because I'm watching "Glee" right now. I'm finally home and watching last weeks, and this song is the first one up. It's beautiful, and I don't just mean Ryder Lynn's version on the show. This has been one of my favorites for a very, very long time now. It's actually a song that I have always kept in the back of my head as a potential wedding song, but that's neither here nor there. Bottom line, it's one of the sweetest, simplest, and most romantic songs ever.
Oh, and they follow it up with "More Than Words." Yup, I'm a sap.
Because songs define our moments.
