Now, it's popping up again in the pre-show soundtrack for "Barefoot in the Park" - which i'm in! This weekend, if you're in Atlantic City or the nearby area, come to Dante Hall and see it!

A couple reasons why this song means a lot to me and, well, seemingly continues to invade my life. I performed it a bunch of times in high school for various events - it as always a fun one that got people up and moving. I also performed it a few years ago at a benefit for my high school's drama club, and the whole seemed to be enjoying it (special shout out to Mr. Kirner for singing backup for me that night!). I don't normally pick a song based on the video alone, but guys, you've got to see this one. I've caught it a few times now, and every single one of those views has had me going: "what the...?" Worth checking out here, at least once. A few days ago I asked friends for a good song to celebrate being able to eat solid foods for the first time in almost a week. (Sorry it took a few days y'all - so stupidly busy with stuff.) I got some great suggestions, but this was, by far, the most hilarious one. Thanks Howey!
I've been waiting since some time around the age of 13/14 for these guys to get back together and put out a new album, and ladies - today is the day! Now, they always had a slightly sexual sound to their music, but man, they are going all the way on this one. I'd be a little embarrassed to listen to this with my mom around, but let's pump this one in a club, please. As far as who the boy slook, well, they're handsome as always. Though now they're carrying around drinks the whole time. Eh, I'm okay with that too. Maybe we'd get along even better these days. But the song's got a great hook musically. I can't get it out of my head. Nice work guys, and welcome back!
You need some good new country music? Yeah, I got exactly what you need. A little lady from the Northwest that went down to Nashville for school and some real learnin' is making an impact on the country scene, and I couldn't be more excited for her and about her music. Her first song out there was "Party Till The Cows Come Home" and now she's back with this latest one.
The banjo's more rockin' than anything I've heard out there... ever. Who know this instrument could carry a whole song so well? It sets the backwoods mood but still creates a rock-country song. Rachele carries it, naturally, with this deeper voice that creates a sultry sound that'll knock you off your feet! Damn you VH1. You just had to have your wonderful countdown of the best songs of the 2000's, and I just had to turn it on during this song. Now it'll be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. At least it's semi-uplifting. Beats sleeping all day on pain meds from tooth surgery! Happy birthday, Mema! Love and miss you. Here's your theme song. |
